La Chaumiere Roz-Aven

We stopped by the restaurant for lunch before a boat trip just along the waterfront. We went for the plat du jour which was simple pate to start, chicken and chips for main. Sadly, despite us mentioning our booking for a boat trip, nearly an hour and a half after sitting down, our mains finally arrived. The food was good but didn’t make up for missing our sailing. If you have the time to spare then the food was nicely presented and of good quality. If you are looking for something quick to eat, the creperie next door might be a better option.

Charming Pont-Aven, we were invited to a wedding and stayed for 3 nights, very friendly and courteous welcome. The owners are adorable. The staff was perfect, kind and smiling young women, the young man at the bar as well. And thank you for the fans during this heatwave. Excellent breakfasts. We recommend it.

Pont-Aven is such a pretty town with an excellent museum/art gallery a different exhibition each time we’ve visited. The setting of this hotel could not be better, overlooking the river Aven as it bubbles through the rocks into the little harbour before continuing to the sea. The hotel is very comfortable and the hosts are welcoming and helpful. It is clean and neatly kept. Breakfast gives plenty of choice and provides value and quality. We are already planning our next visit. A short drive away are many coves and beaches while larger towns are within an hour’s drive. Bretagne is very beautiful and worth exploring.
