Hostellerie Le Castellas

Very disappointing experience regarding the pricing of the massages. Our Wonderbox included one night, one dinner, and a 30-minute massage. Pleasant stay and meal, however, there is a problem with transparency regarding the pricing of the massages. The manager contacted us before our stay, indicating that the 30 minutes of massage included in the box were too short and that it would be better to add 30 minutes. We accepted. We ultimately had a 1-hour massage each, back-to-back, without any interruption between the two 30-minute periods. However, we were charged €75 per person for the additional 30 minutes. Yet, the price displayed on their own website clearly indicates: "1-hour massage: €105" and "30-minute massage: €75 per person (only for 2 people)”. We therefore asked for an explanation. We were told that the 30-minute rate was specifically linked to changing towels between two massages. Except that, in our case, there was no towel change between the two 30-minute periods since we each had an hour of massage back-to-back. The only towel change took place between our two massages. We are not disputing the quality of the massage, but the way the supplement was offered and billed to us seems particularly non-transparent. If we had been informed from the start that an additional 30 minutes would be billed at this rate, while the site lists an hour at €105, we would have asked for an explanation before accepting or declined. We therefore left with the feeling of having paid a supplement that does not clearly correspond to the posted rates or the service actually performed. We advise future clients to ask very precisely for the price of supplements before accepting an additional service.

How to find the words to describe this place and its staff? Let's keep it simple: from the moment you arrive, a feeling of serenity sets in. Auré, the manager, welcomes you with a big, natural smile. She gives you all the information necessary for your stay; friendliness, humor, and professionalism overflow from this colorful character. After the explanations regarding the stay, we finally arrive in our "artistic" room—can you call it a room or an artist's studio? The decor is incredible, the bathroom is stylized, the bed is comfortable and huge, the ceiling takes on all its splendor when you turn off the lights before falling asleep; that's when the stars light up. The private and exclusive access to a rooftop is the icing on the cake; you will then find yourself on the roofs with a magnificent view of the village rooftops. The shaded terrace, heavily planted with various varieties, is a quiet and terribly pleasant place; the pool and its setting are soothing. I am here with my wife; she and I will have a hard time leaving after 2 nights spent in this haven of peace. Thank you Auré for this perfect welcome; professionals like you should give some advice to certain hoteliers. I prefer to warn you today: we will be back at your place!!! Sabrina and Frédéric
