Just back from a 3 night stay at this Novotel. Ideal location with the main St Jean train station a 5mn walk and the Tram line F right outside, this goes to and from the airport so it's convenient.
We had classic rooms. Large, modern, clean. Beds were wide and very comfy. Blackout curtains and view of the patio/ garden area meant it was quiet so very good sleep.
Bathroom was functional but a bit small.
AC was a welcome addition.
Only downside was no bottles of water in the room! We were told there's a water fountain by reception with small paper cups. If we wanted large empty bottles to fill, we had to pay!! This was on some of the hottest days of the year so far so a bit "mean"!
Only a tiny selection of coffee / tea sachets in the room too.
Restaurant is closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Bar is manned by reception staff so only basic drinks are offered on those days too.
Despite these minors, we would be back in future.

We walked to this hotel from Bordeaux train station and it takes less than 10 minutes. The hotel sits on the corner.
The booking in was straight forward and the receptionist was top notch - however.
The room was clean and tidy and the balcony large enough to stretch out on but the view was a bit bland. Workers working on the roof above us but to be honest they were no great problem.
We had arrived short of milk we only needed enough for two brews but when we went down to ask for a few drops (we were not asking for a loan) we told to go to the nearest shop which turned out to be a Spar 500 yards away - while we had spent a few hundred euros for our two night stay!
The tram stop is just outside the front door but remember you must use your ticket within the hour or it goes out of time - so buy the ticket at the tram stop as you need it and press it against the light near the door that validates it. Its a nice city to walk round.
However, be warned as there are bikes, cars and trams zooming all over place so keep your eyes open.
Good hotel in a good location with good staff what more do you want (less milk).
Bon journey
PS We don't pass comment on sleep quality as you either have a good night sleep or you don't simple really.

I stayed for the second time at the establishment during a trip to Bordeaux the day before taking my TGV.
Very friendly welcome, upgrade offered for All members to an executive room with a large terrace, minibar, bathrobes, and slippers.
Bedding of very good quality, clean, very comfortable with a large king-size bed.
Regarding breakfast, it is decent with a lot of choices; however, the quality of some cold cuts and smoked salmon could be improved considering the price (19€).
Despite everything, a very good stay with an ideal location close to the train station and prices often close to other establishments like Ibis Red.
