Residence Salina Bay

We had enjoyed our stay in Porto-Vecchio, at the Hotel Don César, so much in July 2026 that we had decided to return in August to enjoy a longer vacation, this time with our toddler. On the recommendation of a couple of friends, we chose the Résidence Salina Bay, thinking we would find a level of service there that met our expectations. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. We had taken care to book a two-bedroom apartment several weeks in advance, on a high floor, with a mountain view, relying in particular on the photos presented on Booking. Upon our arrival, we discovered a ground-floor apartment, looking directly out onto the parking lot and located facing the reception. The apartment also had a strong smell of dampness, numerous mosquitoes and spiders, traces of mold on the ceiling as well as cracks, not to mention a level of cleanliness that seemed very insufficient to us. With a baby, we naturally asked to be able to change apartments and, quite simply, benefit from the category of accommodation that we had booked. The staff's response particularly surprised us. Our request was refused by Margaux, the receptionist, and we were told the next day by the manager that, if we were not satisfied, we could "leave the premises immediately." So out the door with a 15-month-old baby with no rehousing solution. In the middle of high season, while the accommodations in the surrounding area were full, we unfortunately did not really have an alternative and were therefore forced to stay. We wish to share this experience so that future travelers can make their choice with full knowledge of the facts. Here are several elements that we would have liked to know before booking: • For a 10-day stay, no housekeeping service is offered, even though they advertise one every 7 days. No cleaning products or equipment for doing the cleaning yourself (such as a vacuum cleaner, mop, etc.) are provided. • Sheets are not changed during the stay. • Bath towels are only changed once during the entire stay. • There is no washing machine in the apartments. A communal laundry room is available in each building, at a rate of €5 per machine and an additional €5 for the dryer. Note that if you are not present at the end of the cycle, other residents may remove your laundry from the machine. • There is no coffee machine with capsules in the apartments and the pool bar does not open until 10:00 a.m. • The number of lounge chairs and umbrellas at the pool seemed insufficient to us compared to the number of residents. • Checkout is requested at 10:00 a.m., contrary to the usual 12:00 p.m. Starting at 10:30 a.m., we were contacted several times, notably by phone by Margaux, the same receptionist who "welcomed" us. We would have appreciated it if our departure had been handled with a bit more courtesy and if they had simply taken the time to ask us how our stay went. • A €300 penalty is announced in the event that dishes are left in the dishwasher or the trash is not emptied at the time of departure. Note that the dishwasher did not work in our apartment. Finally, the icing on the cake, we unfortunately forgot a pair of AirPods Pro in the apartment. We reported this oversight immediately after leaving the residence. Imagine our surprise to discover, via the "Find My" app, that the AirPods seemed to be a few hundred meters away, in another apartment. They are now located in the north of Corsica. We will not draw any definitive conclusions about what might have happened, but we would obviously have appreciated it if this incident could have been handled in a more human way. In summary, considering the price paid, about €400 per night, we believe that the value for money is not up to par and that the welcome and service offered are very largely improvable. For our part, we will not repeat the experience. In Porto-Vecchio, we believe it is entirely possible to find establishments offering better services and, above all, a much warmer welcome where you feel valued and welcome.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An exquisite experience at Salinabay in Porto-Vecchio! The team is exceptionally friendly, welcoming and extremely customer-oriented. From the first contact you feel welcome and the time is really taken to help you. The service is personal, professional and with genuine attention to the customer. The apartments are spacious, comfortable and exquisitely clean. The pool is also well maintained and spotless, making it a lovely place to relax. I can wholeheartedly recommend Salinabay to anyone looking for quality, excellent service, beautiful accommodation and a warm welcome. Thank you for the great experience and help you have provided me. Top team. Center and harbor within walking distance you can just leave your vehicle on the property. Great location. Supermarket and delicious bakery nearby.

Avoid in July, apartments are super noisy and reception is non-existent. From the first day I reported super noisy neighbors. The only response was, we can't do anything, it's full. A week of putting up with the neighbors every night and being woken up by the kids at 6 in the morning.. so much for a vacation.. If you want to come back more tired than when you left, Salina Bay is the destination for you.... Good luck with your vacation
