Crowne Plaza Toulouse

Disappointing. Great location but old hotel. Carpet clearly faded. Stains everywhere in the room and in the hallway. Bar barely sufficient. Over priced and over rated.

I have been a regular at this hotel for 10 years, and I continue to choose it for its cost-benefit ratio. It has positive points that still tip the scale in its favor: unbeatable location, spacious rooms (a rarity for hotels in downtown Toulouse), good climate control (even during a heatwave, the air conditioning was excellent). Good bed, good pillows, good overall cleanliness. Spacious and functional bathroom. Cons: -Poor service at the reception. Not very friendly, not very helpful. I wouldn't want to be too specific, but there really is no attentive or professional service. -The breakfast is disorganized. At key moments, products are missing, and the staff is insufficient. -The facilities have not been renovated in the 10 years I have been coming here. Everything remains exactly the same. -The bathroom products are nonexistent and of low quality (a bottle of shampoo that looks like detergent, and a bar of soap). Most of the issues I point out seem to stem from poor management and neglect. It doesn't cost much money to fix them, but there seems to be little interest in improving the hotel. In short, I believe it is a hotel with infrastructure that could make it one of the best in Toulouse, but with very poor management that will likely worsen. It's a shame because little by little it will continue to degrade until it becomes ineligible if it continues down this path.

The smell is terrible in this hotel, but the location is perfect. I do not consider this hotel to be a 4-star. It is true that the dining room is beautiful, it is true that the lobby is well organized, the rooms are a good size, it is true that they have nice little interior terraces, but the worst part is that "the hallways smell very bad" to the point of having a moldy odor. The rooms are acceptable, despite the fact that the ceramic in the shower has a lot of mold. A simple wash with bleach would solve everything. Again, the shower is so small that for an elderly person, it can be very difficult to get in and wash. If you take a room with a view of the Capitol Square, be aware that the windows do not open. The service is acceptable. The hotel is a bit expensive for the quality of what we have. 🧐Travel tip; If you are travelers from North America, I suggest you bring washcloths (to wash in the shower) because they do not have them in France. In some hotels, wonderful housekeepers pick up the washcloths that some North American guests have left to take them to their laundry to wash and clean. So if you ask certain housekeepers, they can pull out from their secret stash some washcloths to help you out. Thank you immensely to Mariam.🙏
