Riquet

I stayed at this 3-star hotel from August 24 to August 27. I would define it as a vintage hotel, in the sense that the rooms (undersized) date back to the 70s, in terms of decor, and the bathroom still has a shower with a partial curtain, something I hadn't seen in many years; the last time was in Argentina many years ago.. Coming from another three-star hotel, like the B & B in La Rochelle, which is very nice and new, the first impression was terrible, given the big difference between the two hotels. That said, the air conditioning worked very well (the best I have found so far), the reception staff was kind and helpful, and there is a space in the back, large and renovated, where guests can smoke or chat; by the way, on the evening of the 26th there was a strong wind (about 40 km/h). And there we were sheltered.. I always try to book a three-star hotel, but I have noticed that there is no uniform standard in France; you can be lucky or not, it depends on chance, at least for me, as I am traveling in France for the first time....

Hôtel RIQUET, Vintage!... Not far from Toulouse Matabiau Station, BE CAREFUL on Rue Riquet (STREET signs!!). Whereas on the maps, it is indicated: Rue Pierre-Paul Riquet! A LOT of CONFUSION!!... ! AND Not, Also, Boulevard Pierre-Paul Riquet!!... From Matabiau Station, across the street, you have to go through the Allées Jean Jaurès, and turn, in the first street, to the left, a small street! Paul Riquet. Other than that; clean room, essential shower, comfortable bedding. Vintage elevator, with the slowness of another era!... Breakfast: Very good! Having the essentials. Staff, welcoming, attentive, and available. A breakfast room. An interior courtyard, serving as a terrace and the possibility of having breakfast there. Even in the lobby, which also serves as a lounge, the possibility of having breakfast there. Tip: you can book a room on the upper floors that overlooks the interior courtyard (if you are worried about hearing noise from the street side).

I've been looking for the 3 stars all night... If we like to spend the night with the neighbors we are welcome. The frame is old and the new one is glued on the old... However, it is very clean!
