ADAGIO ANNECY CENTRE

Very beautiful hotel, ideally located right next to the Annecy train station. The city center is very close, and if you wish to travel around the lake or leave Annecy, the location is truly perfect. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and particularly well-suited for families. The lobby is very pleasant, notably with a foosball table that was a hit with us. Only downside: some rather incomprehensible pettiness for a hotel of this level. For example, there is a coffee machine available in the common kitchen... but no cups. I ask for one at the front desk and am told that I can take a glass from my room. Then, after thinking about it: "Exceptionally, I can give you one," while opening the cupboard right behind him. Thanks for this exceptional gesture! 😄 It's funny in the moment, but frankly a bit ridiculous. Same story with the toilet paper: two rolls for a family of four for three nights. When I ask for some at the front desk: "Do you want one or two?" At this point, I almost wanted to answer: "Give me ten, we're going to stock up!" 😂 Add to that a somewhat weak shower pressure, and you've pretty much covered the complaints. Because, despite these small, rather strange pettinesses, we had a very good stay. The staff was kind, sometimes a bit off in their responses, but always friendly. The hotel is pleasant, very well located, clean, and comfortable. I therefore highly recommend it. With a few extra cups and a few extra rolls of toilet paper, it would be almost perfect! 😄

A particularly disappointing experience for a 4-star rated establishment. I strongly advise against this establishment given the experience I had during my 6-night stay. Upon my arrival, I was confronted with several problems and I ultimately had to change rooms three times, due to successive malfunctions regarding upkeep, hygiene, and amenities. In the first room, the refrigerator had excessive frost buildup outside the freezer section as well as water leaking inside. In the second room, I noticed significant mold in the shower, as well as tile grout that was severely degraded, hollow, or missing in places. In the third room, which was nevertheless presented as having been checked before we moved in, we still discovered several problems: significant mold inside the shower, hair found in the sheets, a defective bathtub drain, and no remote control for the television. The most concerning thing is that these problems were not found in just one room, but in three different rooms, despite the successive reports made to the establishment. Added to this were other inconveniences during the stay: only one of the two elevators was working, leading to significant wait times and regularly overcrowded cabins, sometimes with workers performing repairs, their tools, or maintenance equipment present in the elevator with the guests. On the morning of August 6, as early as 8:20 a.m., particularly noisy work, including drilling, also began while guests were still in their rooms, without prior notice. What is particularly difficult to understand is that our third room had been presented to us as having been checked and approved before our arrival. However, several obvious anomalies were discovered as soon as we arrived. The staff certainly intervened when the problems were reported to them, and I acknowledge the efforts made to try to provide solutions. But these interventions cannot erase the inconveniences already suffered, the three room changes, the time spent reporting issues, and especially the loss of confidence in the quality of the checks performed. For a 4-star establishment, I expected a completely different level in terms of cleanliness, upkeep, maintenance, and room inspections. I am posting this review so that future guests can make their reservation with full knowledge of the facts. A room with a problem can happen. Three consecutive rooms presenting different problems, despite changes and announced checks, is for me a situation that is no longer acceptable for an establishment of this category. I sincerely hope that this experience will lead the establishment to review its inspection, upkeep, maintenance, and work management procedures so that no other guest has to go through a comparable experience.

★★★★★ — 5 stars… only to encourage you to read this review before booking. I strongly advise against this establishment despite its 4-star rating. During a 6-night stay, I had to change rooms three times, due to successive maintenance, hygiene, and repair problems. In the first room, the refrigerator had a major operating problem, with excessive frost formation and water leaking inside. In the second room, I noticed significant mold in the shower, as well as tile joints that were severely degraded, hollow, or missing in places. In the third room, although presented as having been checked before our arrival, we still discovered several problems: significant mold inside the shower, hair in the sheets, a defective bathtub drain, and no remote control for the television. Added to this were other inconveniences during the stay: only one of two elevators was working, leading to significant wait times and regularly overcrowded cabins, sometimes with workers performing repairs, their tools or maintenance equipment in the elevator with the guests. On the morning of August 6, starting at 8:20 a.m., particularly noisy work, notably with a drill, also began while guests were still in their rooms, without prior notice. What seems particularly concerning to me is not the existence of an isolated problem, but the repetition of malfunctions in three different rooms, despite several reports and room changes. I would like to clarify that the teams did indeed carry out interventions when they were requested. But when a guest has to successively report hygiene, maintenance, and upkeep problems and change rooms three times during a six-night stay, that goes beyond a simple one-time incident in my opinion. So why 5 stars? Because I mainly want this review to be read. If you are considering booking here, I strongly advise you to take all of these elements into consideration before making your choice. I sincerely hope that this situation will lead the establishment to review its room inspection, upkeep, maintenance, and work management procedures, so that other guests do not have to experience a comparable situation.
