MONT-BLANC

My family made an online reservation for four people (two adults, two kids) to have dinner at the hotel's restaurant on New Year's Eve. When we made the reservation, we were never told that there was a prix fixe menu. When we showed up at the restaurant, however, we were given the prix fixe menu, which didn't include any prices. My wife approached the manager and asked how much the meal would cost. The manager told her that it would be 340 euros per person and my wife said that we can't afford that and so we will leave. The manager then said that we couldn't leave, and if we did, the restaurant would still charge our credit card for four people (because we had to provide it to hold the reservation). My wife then asked if we could send our kids home because they wouldn't eat most of the items on the menu, but the manager shockingly said no to that too. This is highly unethical behavior because the restaurant never disclosed to us that it would be a prix fixe menu when we made the reservation and gave our credit card info - and the restaurant certainly never disclosed that it would cost 340 euros per person, including for kids. We are a working-class family and can't afford spending this much money on a meal. Our kids did not eat much of the food and the speaker for the band was set up right next to our table so we were unable to hear each other talk for much of the meal. Thankfully, a table next to us (who wasn't even directly next to the speaker) complained about the speaker so the manager offered to turn it away from us. It was truly a horrible experience and we felt as if we were held hostage because the restaurant had our credit card information (which of course we gave without knowing about the expensive prix fixe menu). This last meal in France destroyed a wonderful vacation for our family. We highly advise staying away from this horrible hotel and restaurant.

We went with the family to taste it in the bar of the Mont Blanc hotel in Megève and were frankly disappointed. The service is not up to the standard of the establishment. For example, we ordered Christmas hot chocolates on the recommendation of the room manager (who was on his computer right next to us and volunteered to give us advice). We are informed 10 minutes later that finally, there are no more... Very surprising for an establishment of this type. Clearly, no information is passing. So we're making another order. 10 minutes later: 2 drinks arrive then you have to wait 10 minutes to have the 5 hot chocolates. Finally, there are still 2 drinks missing that we must recommend to the waiter!!. We will therefore have been served in 3 times over 30 minutes for 9 drinks. It seems perfectly unacceptable to me and the service was not at all up to what this establishment wants to be. Too bad! The chocolates were nevertheless good, but this seems to be the least of the things compared to the price. The setting is nice.

Excellent stay at the Hotel Mont Blanc. Quality Service, pleasant and attentive. A special thank you to Christopher and Anthony for the Welcoming. The rooms are perfect, the perfect location and of course the spa brings a lot! We will be back with pleasure.
