Les Chalets Du Jardin Alpin

The apartment is well located, but when we arrived it was dirty under the beds water bottle, papers and lint. Dirty mattresses with weary piss, good thing we're wearing sheets. They took 300 euros deposit and within 5 hours of leaving they send us an email that they stay 30€ of the deposit for leaving on and obviously clean the dishwasher (they give you 1 pill for the 7 days, often detail) and take a picture of 1 bread crumb from the dining room. What an embarrassment, after paying over 1500€. Ones without shame and abuse.

We (8 friends) stayed at the Chalets du Jardin Alpin in March this year. The location is quite good - 10 minute walk to town, and don't believe the location shown on their website! It's actually near the Pontillas lifts and the town swimming pool just of the Grenoble/Briancon road. The chalets are basic but reasonable. Linens were clean but duvets and pillows a bit grubby. Reasonable selection of cooking equipment. We managed to cook pies, curry, chili and a roast while we were there so pretty effective. Only a couple of points to note: 1. Watch for opening hours. We got the train to Briancon having been told by Madames Vacances that we could check in from 8am. This wasn't true at all and we would have had to wait until 5pm to collect keys were it not for a nice girl on reception who let us in early. checkout is also early at 10am. 2. The chalets are small. Certainly not big enough for the number of people shown on their website. We had one 9 person Chalet (excellent view of the mountain and patio) with 3 bedrooms for 5 people and one 7 person chalet with 2 bedrooms for 3 people which was perfect. If you have more people than bedrooms you end up with people sleeping on the sofas. Not fun.

We were a family of 6 and booked a seven person chalet trough Nielson ski but decided at the last minute to book another one direct with Madame Vacance just to give us parents a bit of space. We felt these chalets are really good value for money.but a bit snug for full occupancy . They are near one ski lift but a ski bus stops right outside to get you to other ski lifts in the village.Reception staff very helpful . The nice public pool is right next door of which we visited many times. The Village is 10 minute walk . We would definately stay here again.
