B&B Chateau De La Tour Du Puits

We really liked our stay at the Hob de la Tour du Puits. The staff was extremely friendly, the castle is just lovely and very charismatic, the surrounding garden is well maintained, the whole property sits perfect within the nice landscape.

Selected as a quality Chateau to relax before a long drive over the Alps into Italy, we arrived at 6.30pm on a Wednesday to find the driveway to Reception blocked by bollards. No other cars in sight but they did advertise Valet Parking so maybe someone will come to take the luggage and park the car. Waited but on one appeared so went up to Reception but no one there, checked the office, the dining room, the kitchen, then outside again to the spa, pool, sauna. All deserted, no staff anywhere. The owner finally appeared and confirmed our booking and wanted to know if we wanted breakfast...what we wanted was dinner but this was not to be, he could provide us with platters of meat and potatoes. We had little choice but to accept as the secluded location offers no other dining choices. Full Al la carte prices were charged for a no choice disappointing meal, particularly when considering the chateau's own advertising of it's culinary expertise. I chose this Chateau for it's location and the level of service it seemed to promise. I cannot fault the location but in a property of this nature I expect a high level of service, not a ghostly building with absolutely no staff in evidence anywhere, anytime. We left the following morning when there was a chambermaid in attendance but still no Reception staff and we had to go looking for someone to pay our bill. I cannot find an internet contact with this property to further my complaint

Wonderful place for a stop en route across the Alps. Great food, great service, great building, great location. All the produce is local. Room was a little basis but this was more than made up for by the warm reception and great service,
