Customers for about ten years, we have seen the decline of this establishment with regret. oO The Hotel- location Oo Located a 10-minute walk from the city center and a 20-minute walk from the thermal baths, its position is ideal for staying in this pretty town of Argelès-Gazost (65). Short hike 1 minute away called the Arrieulat. oO The setting and equipment Oo The setting was pleasant but, during our last visit, the garden lawn was dead, the trees poorly maintained or not at all, the terrace full of dust and dirt. Equipped with a small pool, we brought our swimsuits to cool off there. The condition of the building, the dirtiness of the tile, and an unpleasant odor turned us away from our desire. And the kind of dirt patch for potentially drying off outside is off-putting. A small free parking lot is available to customers. Otherwise, you will find another free parking lot behind the establishment. oO The Restaurant Oo it used to be a must-visit table, for lunch as well as dinner. But from now on, only half-board is presented to the clientele and only for the evening meal. Fixed menu, except for special diets or customer requests: country ham, plain omelet, rice, or pasta are offered as replacements. The rest of the cuisine is of passable quality or even less. The disillusionment compared to memorable culinary memories was only greater. The owner explains the difficulty the profession is having recruiting good staff, and his current cook demonstrates the validity of his observations. The decor is minimalist, mainly focused on cycling. The tables are bare with no tablecloths and paper napkins. In fact, the table is sticky... The wine list is to be avoided as it is so poor. The service is fast and friendly. oO The Rooms Oo Small elevator: serving the rooms upstairs. Accessible room available. Pets accepted and that ends up becoming annoying, there are so many of them counting the owner's. The rooms are spartan and offer very relative comfort. Our bathroom is so tiny that two of us cannot fit in it. No air conditioning, but a huge ceiling fan that stirs the hot air, very slightly cooled. Cleanliness is also quite relative. The hallway carpet is stained and a scent of an old house floats throughout the establishment. No more telephone line: to reach management, you have to go to the reception. Free and well-connected Wi-Fi. oO Others 0o Bar under a pretty glass roof with a fairly wide menu of cocktails with or without alcohol. Alas, the taste remains questionable. An adjoining lounge with a wheelchair ramp could be pleasant if it were not constantly plunged into darkness. Finally, the breakfast is pathetic: coffee, tea, or hot chocolate from a machine like an office coffee break, a variety of mini pastries, ham (cellophane-wrapped), same for the cheese, yogurt, fruit juice, bread, water, and that's it. Service at your discretion. OO Conclusion Oo Establishment that seems asleep or dying. While it is properly equipped for people with reduced mobility and spa guests, it should be avoided by tourists. we have known the hotel for about ten years and it is always a pleasure to stay there, passing through for three nights we loved it, you feel like family there like at home, the managers are very pleasant and always present for the guests, breakfast and the meal are very hearty and of good quality, go there with your eyes closed
