La Closeraie de Lourdes

First of all - the parking - Paid parking is underground with an entrance so narrow that only a very small car can enter - and even then there isn't enough room to be comfortable. The breakfast was overpriced and horrible, I am sure the ham was well past it's best before date. I my receipt said a double bed, my bed was smaller than a single - a cot only. The bottom sheet was not fitted so ever time I moved it came off. The towels were extremely thin, the kitchenette didn't have dishcloths but rather the sponges that are so popular in France. Would not have been an issue had it been a NEW sponge - It was old and you could tell it had been used many times. The only good thing I can say is that is it right beside the bus stop that takes you to the sanctuary and that it had air conditioning, as I was there in the middle of a heat wave.

Appart'hotel residence de Closeraie is a bdget, no-frills hotel in Lourdes. Located just beside the train station, it is a good choice for those who are traveling with time constraints. The downside though is that it is quite far from the Cathedral and the Grotto and demands, for those unfamiliar with the transport system, a little exercise when visiting the pilgrimage site. Breakfast is very basic and kinda "controlled". Over-all, it is still a good value due to its price, location, cleanliness and medium-size rooms.
