Grand Hotel Barriere Dinard

We have just checked out of this gorgeous facility and could not have had a more enjoyable time. We are traveling with the Backroads group and this proves to be one of our favorite stops. The waterfront location and proximity to shops and restaurants is just perfect. Attention to detail at the hotel is superb. We did not have any issues, but if we had, I’m rather confident they would have been resolved immediately. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. I did use the gym(very small, but adequate) and spa. Mary gave a fabulous massage and I found the spa adequate, but not quite of the standard of the rest of the grandiose hotel. We loved the bar and breakfasts and dinner at Le George V was excellent. We would absolutely return again.

This was our fourth stay at this hotel and I was extremely disappointed. In 2023 we were dazzled by the renovation (our first visit dated back to 2019) and by the service. In 2024 I celebrated my 58th birthday and my husband had mentioned this date. I was spoiled, so for my 60th birthday (a round age) we returned there and despite a request made by my husband before our arrival: nothing on the day. But before that, on the day of our arrival: a rather indifferent welcome, to say the least, the room was very nice but not exceptional. Second disappointment was the restaurant "Le Georges 5" which does not renew itself year after year with a fixed menu and a mini card that after 5 consecutive days becomes tiresome. The service, however, is excellent. The pool area is the big plus of this hotel. Finally, the manager is completely absent (unlike the other hotels in the group we have frequented) and no one inquires about your satisfaction... Finally, on my birthday: nothing, no word or small attention. This saddened my husband and irritated me to the highest degree. Even at the casino, while looking at my ID, the staff noticed it was my birthday and offered us a glass of champagne!!!! Yet upon arrival at the hotel, we were asked to fill out a form with our name and date of birth: just administrative. We will not return because the welcome and the absent management are not up to the standards of a Barrière hotel.

A very pleasant stay, time for a three day weekend. The staff is very attentive, the hotel is ideally located, and very quiet. The services offered are up to the standards expected. Everything you need for a successful stay!
