Hotel Le Boischaut - Citotel Chateauroux

Slept one night in October 2026. Very quiet, clean hotel at a very affordable rate. Friendly staff Without hesitation, if needed, I will book this hotel again.

The hotel room (floor 1, door 16) was unhealthy: • Presence of mold on the edge of the shower (I specify that mold even in small amounts is a health risk, especially to the respiratory tract and immune system, and can cause irritation, cough or allergies), • A piece of vermicelli on the shower floor, • Twisted toilet bowl with a used tissue inside, • The cabinet in bad condition and dusty, • A component of the door that fell off when I held it to close the door. The heat in the room was sweltering, with no air conditioning or fans, and the lack of mosquito nets on the windows brought in hundreds of insects if opened at night. When I went to the reception to complain about the heat and the twisted bowl, she sent me around saying that usually an employee uses this room and that it would surprise him that the bathroom has a flaw and that you have to bear the heat, to what they told me they are "forbidden to put fans in the rooms" Funny thing more, the "hotel plumber" had to intervene on the second day of the stay because of water leakage in the bathroom... Which left a scent of vinegar on my way back to the hotel room. In addition, the soundproofing of the room does not exist, making sleeping almost impossible. Between the regular passage of cars and trucks speeding between midnight and 6 a.m., and the noise caused by other residents (some shouting at night and others setting music), the rest conditions were particularly poor.

The hotel is filled with noisy migrants (at least thirty) who make a lot of noise until the middle of the night. Apparently I’m not the only one to report it but nothing seems to change. I tried to tell them to turn it down but don’t understand a word of French (Or don’t want to understand.). I had come for an early morning sports competition, the awakening was not very pleasant with few hours of sleep. Moreover, we thought that breakfast started at 7am, whereas it starts at 7.30am. The receptionist tried to reach her manager who refused to refund us, okay, but she didn’t even bother talking to us herself, I wanted to at least tell her verbally the hellish night we had been through. No air conditioning or fan, air does not enter the rooms. Of course the elevator broke down, this too had already been reported in February... It hardly happened but it is starting to do a lot. Everything is very old but well, it still does not bother us too much. In short, apart from the receptionist who did what she could, this hotel is to flee like the plague!!
