La Roseraie

Everything was perfect: the welcome, the rooms, the cleanliness, the warm decor, the breakfast buffet and the lunch and dinner dishes, the pool, the terrace, the very friendly staff who were attentive and took great care of us, the accessibility for people with reduced mobility… 😅! The activities to do in the surrounding area and the very nice little village of Villard-de-Lans!

Charming little hotel, in the heart of Villard-de-Lans, the welcome is warm, the room is spacious and spotless, and the breakfast is super complete and, above all, only with homemade and local products, a must. In this month of July heatwave, the pool was really a big asset, really a shame that it is closed at 8 p.m. and that we cannot cool off there upon returning from a walk in town. but a big flaw in these hot periods, the lack of air conditioning! (yes I know I could have checked beforehand) Upon our arrival, the heat in the room was stifling, when I say surprised "you don't have A/C?" Response "It's not mandatory, but I advise you to remove the duvet and open the windows." Well, I suppose we would have thought of that on our own ;o) So indeed, we opened the windows only to find ourselves completely in plain view of everyone since we were right on the road and the intersection. In short, I'm not giving the maximum rating because of this "small" inconvenience of the lack of A/C and the location "on the road"... and the pool closing way too early. Other than that, everything was perfect.

Room not very large but clean and good bedding. Restaurant closed in April but the hotel being not far from the city center, this was no problem. Excellent breakfast with many homemade cakes
