I had booked a room in this castle to attend Chambord Live. The event was canceled by prefectural order the day before our arrival. I immediately called the castle, which had this information but refused to cancel my reservation because it was past the deadline. Given that the cancellation of the event is against my will and due to a prefectural order, it would have been honest on the part of the castle to charge only, for example, 50% of the amount since the room was unused, which cost nothing in water, electricity, sheets, cleaning,... Everyone would have found their satisfaction. But this is not very businesslike, nor very humane.
