Villa Bellagio

Walls are paperthin, smell is like a week old camambert on the desk in our room :( When I booked Restaurant and swimmimg pool was a big advantage, when we arrived we realised that the resto is closed for a while, pool has not been worked for years :( Couple of years ago it might be an acceptable option when it was a Novotel, but today it is a big disappointment. It is not an expensive one but not worth the price at all.

I don't recommend this hotel. It is very run down. It is clear that the management does not invest in upkeep (e.g., painting, functional tables and chairs, swimming pool.) Man at reception for checkout charged us for 2 breakfasts we didn't have and when I pointed this out, the guy didn't know how to credit my American Express card (I finally gave him a bank card to credit) and never acknowledged or apologized for his mistake. If you do have to stay here, I strongly suggest asking for a printout of your itemized bill so you can review it for accuracy before paying. Don't let them just read out charges to you from their screen.

On arrival we were met by the most unhelpful of staff. The lift didn't work. We were put on the second floor as far away as possible. The room was clean. However, the fittings were way overdue for renewal and extremely poor. The bathroom comprised of a separate toilet which was stained. The bathroom itself had sealant applied to the edge of the bath. The sink was highly stained. The bar staff again were extremely unhelpful and inefficient. The breakfast was for the most part ok but we had to take loads of plates and cups in order to find and that had been washed up correctly. We stayed at this hotel on 14/7/2018.
