Balladins Reims La Neuvillette Borelie

My experience at the Brit Hotel La Neuvillette in Reims will remain memorable, but unfortunately in the wrong way. The hotel is spread over two separate sites, and my stay in Building B was a real disappointment. From the corridor, the tone is set: it serves as a shoe cabinet for seasonal workers from Eastern Europe, with the smells of feet that go with it. The doors creak every time they open (a little WD40 would quickly fix the problem), and the room neighbors keep slamming the doors and talking loudly. The room, meanwhile, is in average condition and could well use a serious refreshment. The bed’s disposable awnings come off as soon as you move, the bathroom’s VMC is loud, and it’s impossible to take a bath for lack of a cork — which may explain the presence of an old cloth left on the desk when we arrive. Breakfast at 11 € has no point: from the very classic, nothing more. The icing on the cake this Sunday morning was that the fruit juice machine offered only apple juice (the only choice, as the machine was obviously broken down). To complete the picture, a handwritten rating posted at the Welcoming of the buffet, addressed to all visitors, is perplexing — I prefer to leave the photo in this notice for everyone to get their idea. Overall rating: 2/5. A disappointing experience that I will not repeat.

First time at a Brit hotel. Good value for money. Friendly helpful staff. Very comfy beds and pillows. Very clean rooms. Reasonable bar prices. We didn't have an evening meal there, preferred to go into Reims. Breakfast also good. Only 1 negative, no air conditioning. I know it was unseasonally warm but the nights were stifling. We will definitely be using this chain again

As usual with Brit Hotel it's on a trading estate out of town. We were 12 bikers making an overnight stop. Quick shower in the basic room, walked to the local equivalent of TGI Fridays for dinner.About a quarter hours walk. Head down for some kip, breakfast and away. This sort of place is just what we are after. Breakfast was fine in the French style, bread, cheese meats jam cereals yogurts etc.
