Comfort Hotel Paris La Fayette

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel last week, in 2 different rooms, nothing to complain about. recently renovated room and bathroom with taste, very clean, air-conditioned. The breakfast is quite good (savory, sweet, yogurts, compotes, fruits,...). The staff is helpful and smiling. The hotel is 500 m from the subway station. The most notable aspect during this heatwave is the availability of a refrigerated water fountain, an espresso machine, a slushie maker, and a small fresh juice fountain at the reception. The only small remark would be about the price when booking several nights; the price is not discounted or a bit cheaper.

Checked in on 24 May, found that air con not working. Called reception and no one pick up the phone. Went down and the receptionist said air con in some rooms broken down. Another guest said it has been 3 nights since she checked in and it was still not fixed. The receptionist said someone will fixed it 8am tomorrow. Second day another receptionist said no one is coming to fix the air con. I asked if we can change to a room with air con. He said cannot because the rooms are occupied and full. I said you are still selling room online. Then he said the manager will come back at 8am. Then later said 10am, then said today is bank holiday and not coming back. You can check out and get refund. In the afternoon, asked another receptionist, she said actually the entire hotel had no air con. It’s hopeless and now 1:47am, still unable to sleep. Totally lost of enjoyment.

I would stay again. I slept really well - nice bed. The rooms are typical Paris (basic and small). Great location as well. The only negative would be the guy who works reception - such a miserable, surly and awful human being. He should do himself (and customers) a favour and find another job.
