Saint James Albany Paris Hotel Spa

Excellent news that the renovation of the Saint James Albany on Rivoli! A place steeped in history in the heart of Paris, where I spent some beautiful moments. Can't wait to rediscover it after the work! It will be the opportunity to once again enjoy its unique atmosphere and its ideal location to fully experience the magic of Paris.

I had a booking for four adults for the weekend of March 13th 2020. Due to the Irish government advising us not to travel and the French government announcing a national lockdown - we reasonably did not travel. I contacted the hotel to understand if there was any option to even change the dates to later in the year (I had prepaid option) but there was a very fast response stating no - the terms were the terms. While in a normal situation I would completely accept but when both governments ask people NOT to travel and it is a pandemic, you would expect a hotel of this level to demonstrate some actual customer support and empathy. I did not request a full refund or anything - merely opportunity to potentially move the date to alternative later in the year. It is obvious that this hotel is only interested in making money and not in any way interested in the customer experience or national safety for that matter.

We were very comfortable during our stay, felt that the staff was very professional and got an excellent price for a spacious bedroom & living room with all the expected amenities (TV, multiple windows, drying rack, Minibar, soaps, clean towels & linens every day). The sauna & pool were a nice plus and the included buffet breakfast was an amazing array of meats, cheeses, fancy breads and so much more & better than expected! We will definitely go back again.
