Pullman Bercy

I had already spent a day in day use at this hotel a few years ago and I had not been convinced. I decided to give it a second chance having 2 "suite night upgrades" to use before the end of the year. What a mistake! My 1st check-in at noon went very well. I paid the deposit and left my luggage at the hotel (the room not being ready, which I totally understand). So I come back at 2 p.m. and I mention that I have already checked in, I would like to get my luggage and the keys. Someone brings me my luggage and then... nothing more. I wait around, everyone ignores me. The receptionist then decides to take care of the customer behind me... which obviously annoys me. When I explain the situation to him, he pretends to believe that I was with the customer next to me. We don't even speak the same language, the customer and I, racial profiling I suppose. So no apology from him and I look like the crazy one. I arrive in the room and no platinum gift is waiting for me, of course (but am I surprised?). Not at all). Furthermore, there was no longer any cardboard at the reception, so I got my keys in a white envelope... it is definitely the first time I have seen that, especially in a Pullman. I think I should have gone to the Ibis; it is of a better standard than the Pullman Bercy.

It is quite rare to find a hotel of this size in Paris, and the rooms are spacious for the capital. We had a 180° suite with a view of the Seine, a real plus for the stay, but the price of this suite is exorbitant, clearly to be weighed against the benefit of the view. The hotel is starting to show its age, however, and a practical point to note: once the sofa bed is unfolded, moving around the room becomes complicated. To be taken into account if you plan to use it regularly during the stay. Regarding location, a big plus with the proximity to Bercy Village and its restaurants and shops, as well as direct access to line 14, which allows you to quickly reach the Gare de Lyon or Orly airport. The breakfast is good and varied. The pool is free, accessible by reservation. The staff is friendly. In summary: a hotel that stands out for its size and the space of its rooms, rare in Paris, with a very convenient location and a free pool as a bonus. On the other hand, the suite is expensive for what it offers (view of the Seine, yes, but dated decor and complicated movement with the sofa bed unfolded), so I would carefully weigh the value for money before booking this specific type of room. For a standard room, the space/location equation remains very solid, however.

We stayed at the Hotel Pullman Bercy after traveling from Switzerland; Paris was the final leg of our vacation. Unfortunately, our luggage didn't arrive with us, and the airline arranged to deliver it to the hotel. Upon checking in on July 26, I informed the staff that six large suitcases would be arriving, given the length of our trip and the amount of clothing we had. The bags arrived, yet no one notified us—despite the fact that I asked the front desk almost daily if they had been delivered. My in-laws and aunt left a day earlier than us; at the airport, they were informed that the bags had actually been delivered to the hotel at 10:00 PM on July 25. Because we only found out about this once they were already at the airport, I now have to pay for three extra large suitcases and two taxis to transport my wife, son, and all that luggage. I trusted the hotel, but I’ve suffered a significant financial loss—having to pay for extra bags on our return flight and purchase replacement clothes and other items—and I’m now facing the major hassle of traveling with so much baggage. I was extremely disappointed with the service at this hotel.
