Le Puy Ferrand

The hotel served as a stopover city during a trip back from vacation. Located above the town of Le Mont-Dore and at the foot of the Sancy, the setting is sumptuous. The room had a direct view of the Sancy, which allows you to appreciate all the changes in light and clouds throughout the evening and in the morning. The room was spacious, bright, well-appointed, and had a balcony. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant (La Table de l'Ours, open on Sundays), which is very focused on local products, which is what we were looking for. The snails au gratin with blue cheese were delicious (even if they were a little salty because of the cheese). The truffade with Saint-Nectaire cheese was very good and served in a very generous portion. The menu includes many local Auvergne wines, which is appreciated. The one that was aptly recommended to us paired perfectly with both dishes (Magma). A good place, which must have a completely different atmosphere in winter. In any case, the very well-made brochure describing the Sancy massif invites you to return (do not hesitate to go through the Col de la Croix Saint-Robert where the view is magnificent).

Very beautiful place, superb view, large terrace, good kitchen, pleasant welcome, elevator, very comfortable rooms. And from there, so many walks, hikes, and discoveries in beautiful landscapes! A nice and good place.

Very good hotel at the foot of the Sancy, very well located! The staff is very welcoming, both at the reception and during meals; excellent breakfast (savory/sweet, lots of choices, great). The private indoor pool is not unpleasant, especially during a heatwave.
