Balladins Lyon Dardilly

Very disappointed with the place. Not all channels are available on the TV. The room had not been vacuumed as it was dirty upon entering. The soundproofing is quite poor as you can hear the road and the air conditioning compressor. There was a family across from me, and no one from the reception went to tell them to be quieter, so it was unbearable until midnight. No outlet near the nightstands. Not much choice at breakfast and the pastries are dry. A few advantages like the location and the fact that the bathroom was fairly clean, as well as the reception from the person present at the front desk.

We arrived on the night of 27/28/02, the receptionist was extremely unpleasant, in addition to being totally incompetent (unable to understand the price we had to pay, according to our reservation made online on 30/09/2025, for which we had received a very specific email: triple room at 58,50€ + tourist tax for 3 to 2,97€ - a voucher of 10€, for a total to pay of 51,47€. He did not want to apply the 10€ discount, and did not agree with the amount of the tourist tax (despite the amount written in black and white on the email received from brit hotel). He even asked us to leave at some point!!! We were forced to pay a different amount (in favour of the hotel) to get our room back!! Shame and dishonesty!!!

We stayed here as it was a convenient stop over to break the drive down to Spain and is pet friendly. We have stayed before and although basic, it served a purpose and was reasonably priced. This time it was just awful, freezing cold room both the wall heater and fan heater did not work. The fan heater blew out cold air. There was no TV remote, the bed was so uncomfortable as it was like camp beds with lumpy pillows, the bathroom door was broken and my partner got stuck in the bathroom (that would have been interesting if there was a fire). The bar was closed which was the final straw as we couldn't even just have a little drink in a warm bar to make the night go by. The only good things are the pet friendly aspect, the free parking and the half way location of driving towards Barcelona from Calais. Hopefully they will clean up their act. I appreciate it's out of season but still taking bookings and very much open and charging a fair amount to stay and sadly it was less than acceptable. We never reported it at the time as we were tired and just needed to bed down and leave as soon as possible. We won't use thks hotel again. Ibis and Campanile are much better and also pet friendly and located throughout France and in any cases cheaper and with decent beds, pillows, heaters and facilities.
