CAMPANILE LYON CENTRE - GARE P

It was the worst hotel we could have had. We had booked 2 double rooms which were very small and without closets for our clothes, which were wrinkled from travel and from the bed, without a small refrigerator in the rooms in the heat! We couldn't even keep a glass of cold water for emergencies. The bathroom towels were not changed daily; they only told us that we had to throw them on the floor to make them understand that they needed to be changed. Every day we went to the reception and asked for clean and extra towels for the second person. The daily changing of towels was not part of their culture, in addition to the fact that we paid for a double room and they gave us towels for one person. Generally, the rooms were excessively small, even for one person, making it impossible to move around in the room. We had a reservation for 2 rooms, the double room was leaving at 5 in the morning, which means it didn't use the room until 12, which it was entitled to, and when the second room asked for an extension of 2-3 hours for checkout, they asked for 30 Euros! But it wasn't the 30 euros that played a role, it was the very bad behavior and the treatment by the manager. The monastery was very thankful, the staff at the reception was the most polite and kept apologizing to us. At the buffet, the food was exposed without cover and flies were flying over it, which was very disgusting. The only thing that was satisfactory was the location of the hotel. Never again to this hotel and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

If you have a train connection to make, the hotel is excellently located in the immediate vicinity of the Part-Dieu station, in a quiet area. The rooms are standard and decent. The hotel has a respectable restaurant. The welcome is minimalist, however.

Excellent stay from 07/14 to 07/18; A top-notch team, with a special mention to Henry. Comfortable accessible room (134). Canaille bar/restaurant on Thursday night is great! Good location, good bedding, good cleanliness. The room is missing a refrigerator, especially during a heatwave. I am going back in November/December of this year.
