Odalys Les Lumieres De Neige I et II

Stay from August 22 to 29 at the Résidence Odalys Les Lumières de Neige, in Valmeinier 1900. It was a first stay in Valmeinier in the summer. The apartment corresponded well to the description and photos in the listing. It was clean, quiet, and sufficiently equipped, particularly in terms of the kitchen and dishes. The sofa bed was comfortable and rather firm, and the temperature was pleasant, with cool nights. The small terrace is a real plus, as is the view of the mountain with no overlooking neighbors. On the other hand, the absence of a side table or small outdoor table is regrettable: it was not really possible to have a meal on the terrace. The main negative point concerns the sanitary facilities. Despite clean accommodation and a clean bathroom, a strong, persistent smell of urine was present in the toilet throughout the stay, despite cleaning with bleach. It is a shame because the rest of the accommodation was well maintained. Access by car is easy and it is easy to park. The residence does not have a bike storage room, which can be a drawback for people coming to practice mountain biking. It has a laundry room, which was not used. The swimming pool, for its part, was out of service. The welcome and check-in went smoothly. The area is a good starting point for many hikes and mountain bike trails, notably with the Col du Télégraphe and the Fort du Télégraphe nearby. Regarding Valmeinier at the end of August, one must however be aware that the resort is very quiet and that tourist activity is reduced during this period. Only one ski lift was open, with a price of $9 for a round trip, and several shops as well as activity providers were already closed or at the end of the season. This creates a very quiet atmosphere, but the range of activities and services is necessarily more limited. In the end, we consider that the value for money was good, especially thanks to the relatively low price compared to the service offered. We therefore give this rental a 4/5. A pleasant summer experience, with a few flaws that could easily be corrected. Valmeinier certainly deserves to be rediscovered in winter in order to form a new opinion of the resort during a period when its activity is much greater.

No pool in the residence (or not in good condition), one accessible nearby. Close to shops and the start of hiking trails, ideal for families with children, otherwise few activities for adults, apart from walking, beautiful setting without too many people, ideal for recharging your batteries.
