Best Western Hotel Royal Picardie

5th night of the car club tour and 4th hotel Everything was excellent. Food, care, presentation, cleanliness, hospitality. A welcoming attitude and all staff cared unlike so many hotels before. They took our cases to our room without me requesting it. Super vegan and GF options. Includes air con. 100% recommend.

A perfectly located hotel to visit the memorials and graves from the battle of the Somme. It’s just such a shame that the management cannot get it right. Staff helpful and friendly. BUT although the breakfast available is very good indeed, it became very tiresome after five days to constantly ask for croissant, spoons, milk, butter, cereal, orange juice, eggs… even more water for the egg poacher?! How difficult can it be to put one member of staff PERMANENTLY in the breakfast room to check what needs topping up?! For heaven sake sort it out. You also have one member of housekeeping staff who forgot to replenish towels, toilet roll and water in the rooms. AND sort out the administration and get the staff to ask for a signature in the bar… our bill couldn’t have been more wrong!!!! Everyone seemed to be having a problem settling their bill. It’s not good enough. Having said that we enjoyed our stay in a hotel that should have been charming and could be exceptional.

The hotel is easily accessible and there is a large unguarded parking lot. The welcome from the young staff is very friendly and pleasant. It is after that things go wrong… The door to room 21 has been forced and it is not possible to lock it… Then it was extremely hot and there are not enough air conditioning remotes for all the rooms! Unthinkable for a 4-star hotel! We had to threaten to leave the hotel and demand a refund to get functional air conditioning. The lobby, the bar, and the large dining room are welcoming and nicely arranged. In fact, there is a real disparity between the common areas and the rooms. At the bar, we had a young person who is not a bartender and did not know what a Mirabelle was nor how to make a Gin and Tonic… At breakfast, at 9:00 AM, there were no more breads, cheeses, or fruits, still in a supposed 4-star setting! The staff constantly apologizes, but the problem does not come from them; it comes from the absence of the owners and a lack of training for these young employees! Fortunately, the bedding is of good quality and it was clean! The value for money is absolutely not there!
