Avenir Hotel Montmartre

Although the exterior and the reception can deceive a lot of visitors, this hotel is very underrated. The position is quite strategic, with the underground station “Anvers” (M2) being practically beside the hotel. The rooms are standard but neatly organized, and they face the street and/or the Sacre-Cœur. The traffic is sometimes a lot, and for those who have trouble sleeping it may be a problem, especially for the noise pollution (around 10-11 PM it gets loud from the people talking down the streets…). The rooms are cleaned daily and there’s no need to bring towels from home, they give them in advance (but I recommend still bringing them). As a whole, I think that this hotel deserves more recognition that it has, because it gives a lot of Paris vibes!!

The hotel is well located to visit Montmartre and offers spectacular views of the Sacred Heart Basilica. Antwerp Metro Station is nearby. The rooms are quite spacious, but the bathroom is small. The staff is attentive, friendly and helpful, always ready to solve any problems. Breakfast is typically French. Good value for money. We will definitely go back.

WARNING! If it’s hot and you are looking for a room with air condition, this hotel will fool you. You can’t decide the temperature yourself, it’s regulated from the reception and they will keep it very high. Moreover, during the night they will shut the AC of completely to save money! So if you don’t like to try to sleep in a room with 25-28 degrees Celsius (above a noisy street) - don’t choose this hotel.
