Kyriad Paris 13 - Italie Gobelins

Very warm welcome, located near my meeting place, easily accessible. The rooms offer good bedding, a small shower but with good water pressure, the essentials for making coffee or tea, air conditioning, nothing is missing. Very good welcome both in person and over the phone; Very good breakfast, varied and complete.

Location close to Place d'Italie. Spacious, clean rooms, and a perfectly adequate bathroom; size is quite reasonable for a Parisian hotel. Little noise. Standard breakfast but nothing more.

I ended up here as part of compensation by Eurostar for disruption of my train-voyage. Normally I would not want to pay like € 200 for a night stay, as I saw afterwards. That might be a normal price for Paris. The double room I got was fair, though the bathroom was a bit cramped and technically not very neat. The bed was plasticised and felt sweaty. There was a bit of a problem about the breakfast. They would only serve from 7:00, but I had to catch a train at like 6:15 at gare de Lyon. At first the manager was unwilling to make some improvisation. But on my suggestion I could take muesli and yogurt, he agreed that would be possible. Coming down at 5:00 the receptionist was more flexible, made toast, suggested to boil eggs, and I had a fair breakfast. All in all I had a pleasant stay, with exception of the bed. The hotel has metro-stations nearby. It is at walking distance of Place d'Italie and the shopping-centre I visited. Also I could use a nearby bus to gare de Lyon in the morning.
