MANHATTAN ST. OUEN

I had the most disappointing experience at this hotel. I called this morning to book a room for my partner, requesting an early check-in. The receptionist confirmed that there was a room available, and I passed all the reservation details to my partner. I also sent an email to the hotel to request a name change, since I would not be there. After confirming everything, I fell asleep and successfully sent all the information to my partner. The reservation has not been paid. Two hours later, upon waking up, I saw that my partner had tried to call me several times. Apparently, they did not give the room to my partner without authorization and an ID, which they never mentioned. Now, they refuse to cancel the reservation, even though my partner had to look for another hotel in Paris, which was their first time here. This is unacceptable, completely unprofessional, and I am really furious. I will never return to this hotel and I strongly advise against staying there.

It’s been a few years since I last stayed here. I am in Saint Ouen regularly for work and normally stay at the Tribe as it closer to the office. I couldn’t get in this time so stayed at the Mercure. The hotel is fine, in fact it’s a bit nicer than the Tribe and Service was good. Breakfast was fine with a good selection, although no Madelines which I like to have at breakfast when in France. Room was good and I do like the way the TVs in Accor hotels let you Chromecast from a device to them. The problem came with the bathroom. The shower has no door or curtain and there was no bath. I started running the shower as I as I got in the water was just up to the edge of the shower. As I showered the water started leaving the shower and I had to have a very quick shower, hoping the flood wouldn’t get too far. In the end after a very brief shower the water had got well and truly into the room wetting my case and clothes. I dried out the room with the towels as best I could and checked out. I don’t remember this happening last time I stayed so maybe the staff need to unblock their drains. In short not the best stay and next time I’ll stick to the Tribe or stay at the Mont Martre Mercure.

The hotel is located in the Saint-Ouen district, 5 minutes from the metro "Grimaldi." There are various restaurants and a Lidl nearby. The check-in was nice; the lady even offered us coffee and cocoa in the evening. Totally nice. The room is too small for three people. The bed is comfortable. The TV 📺 has a pleasant size. The bathroom is clean but urgently needs renovation. The bathroom is rusty and already shows some cracks. Not nice. The outlet in the room is protruding from the wall. A kettle including coffee is available in the room. The breakfast is delicious and offers great options. There is a water dispenser at the reception. Parking costs 20 euros per night. The entire hotel needs to be renovated! We would not book the hotel again.
