Hotel Golf Valescure

We booked a 4-night vacation from Italy to play golf in a "Double room - Comfort category" with a view of the pool. Upon arrival, with outside temperatures of 32 degrees, we were told that the Air Conditioning, obviously advertised and on which we relied, was not working. We discovered that a third of the rooms do not have functioning Air Conditioning and that this issue has been ongoing for some time. We stayed because we had no choice, but we slept very poorly with 30 degrees in the room. They installed a fan for us, which is annoying and does not lower the temperature at all. We asked if they could move us to another superior room, even for a fee, but they told us they were fully booked. They did NOT inform us before we left, did not offer us discounts, and did not even give us complimentary bottles of water or discounts for golf or the restaurant. We have been customers for years, but I think we will never return. 200 euros a night for not being able to sleep due to the heat! If you have a vacation planned at this hotel, make sure before you leave that they will give you a room with functioning air conditioning, or I assure you it will be a NIGHTMARE of a vacation! The room also had very rough cleaning.

Friendly reception, very clean establishment, nice room, very good breakfast, and perfect massage, thank you Laure. The only major downside: very stained carpet in room (121). Which inevitably gives a dirty impression, making it impossible to walk barefoot and there are no slippers available.

The hotel has both strengths and weaknesses and is by no means 4 stars. Particularly positive highlights are the exceptionally friendly staff, the clean rooms, and the high level of dog-friendliness. Dogs are even allowed to join for breakfast, which is something you really don't find often. The surroundings are very beautiful and ideal for walks with a dog. There is plenty of space to run around, and overall, one feels very welcome with a dog. The beds were also very comfortable. Our suite was large, comfortable, and generally pleasant. The furnishings, however, seem somewhat worn out in places. The carpet was already older, which visually does not appear very modern anymore – but with a dog, it is also more practical and less delicate. The photos, as is often the case, do not quite match the actual condition on site. In the pictures, many things appear newer and of higher quality than they actually are. The breakfast was generally acceptable, but there was practically no variety over the course of 10 days. The same offerings every morning. Particularly disappointing was the scrambled eggs, which resembled more of a mush and was inedible for us. Additionally, the chairs in the breakfast restaurant were somewhat stained and not particularly inviting visually. Unfortunately, the wellness area does not offer good value for money. Without booked treatments, access costs 25 euros per person per hour. For that, you only get a small sauna, a small steam room, and a hot tub. There is nothing more. Only with booked massages is one hour of wellness included. The four charging stations for electric cars are practically arranged: Scan the QR code, select the payment method on your phone, and charge directly. This works smoothly. The pool is not open during our stay (mid-May) and is visually and practically somewhat hindered by a glass partition; otherwise, it is a very nice and well-maintained outdoor area. By the way, the dog food bowl that was supposed to be available according to the description was not present during our stay.
