we stayed at the hotel only for one night, it was simple, nice and cheap and exactly we needed.the staff was very nice and helpful. Parking for free was a great plus! you can reach the center in a short walk can recommend it!

The buses barely run here so it takes forever to get out of these boondocks and into the city walls. The outskirts it is in are not nice to walk through at night. Perhaps it would be OK if you have a car. The desk had lost our reservations and took a lengthy time to find them. The room was infested with mosquitoes as it was on the ground floor and the windows had been left opened - probably to help air out the musty, moldy smell. It was the only bad hostel I stayed at on the trip. Bad location. Bad service. Bad room. Hungry bugs. You can get much more for your money.

The decision to go to Avignon during its prestigious festival period is a bit late, there's basically no choice left on booking.com or hostelworld...so we had to grab the last one available even though it's at astonishingly high price given its location and facilities and that's hotel mistral. It's ok if you have a car, but train travellers like me find it a bit out of town because the two bus that stop there, No.3 and 21 I remember, don't run so frequently, about one for half an hour, and No.21 ends around 7pm at night. If you go there during festival, there is a special line that runs late into midnight, but if other times, well...good luck...The guy at reception or maybe he's the owner? looks a bit unfriendly at first, I arrived at 11am in the morning, and wanted to stay for a while because I got a very important phone interview, he firmly turned me down like any inflexible and rule-sticking French guy..."Closed is closed, there is no way" he said, I have to go out and take that call standing in the street. But later he turned out kinda friendly and willing to help. But if you have any better choice in the old town, you should drop this.
