Safari Hotel Restaurant Hibiscus

My husband (French) and our adult children and I (American), traveled to France for our niece's wedding. We travel internationally often, and this was the most unwelcoming service we have ever received. The woman at reception was incredibly rude and is grossly unsuited for ANY job in the hospitality industry. Further, when our daughter wandered down the wrong hallway on the first floor the next morning looking for an access to the pool area, the woman berated her for not being on her assigned third floor - then proceeded in French to denigrate her behind her back as a "stupid American". Our daughter speaks French and understood her. Horrific experience. Suggestion: book a super charming and welcoming alternate hotel in nearby Monteux - "Hotel Le Blason de Provence". Incredible service, wonderful food and far superior accommodations.

Totally unacceptable experience. We have been booking hotels all over France for years to accommodate our employees during their business trips, and we had never encountered a situation of this type before. Today, upon their arrival at this establishment, our employees were asked for the ID of our company's manager, even though they had their reservation and their own documents. This request surprised us, since it had never been made to us in the many establishments we have frequented until now. I therefore called the hotel to understand the situation. I did not even have time to finish my explanations before the manager immediately replied that she did not wish to answer me because she "felt attacked." I totally contest this accusation: my call was precisely intended to obtain an explanation regarding the request that had just been made to my employees. In order to resolve the situation, I nevertheless sent my ID to the phone of one of my employees so that he could present it on-site. The manager then categorically refused to accept it and maintained her accusations. What particularly shocks us is the treatment reserved for our employees. Given the circumstances and the fact that they are of North African descent, this situation unfortunately leads us to seriously question the possibility of discriminatory treatment. I would like to clarify that this is our perception based on what happened, but the events experienced today have deeply concerned us. When a company books and pays for accommodation for its employees on business trips, it has the right to expect a professional, respectful welcome and clear explanations when a difficulty arises. That is absolutely not the experience we had. After years of business trips and hotel bookings all over France, this is the first time we have been confronted with such a situation. We will obviously not repeat the experience at this establishment.

Very well located, a few minutes from Parc Spirou and the city center. Large room for 4, well laid out and huge bathroom and shower room!
