Adonis Hotel Avignon Sud

Unfortunately, the stay at this hotel was a great disappointment. Even at the time of booking, a misleading impression is created: Only renovated rooms are presented online. However, upon arrival, I had to find out that there are also unrenovated rooms – and I received exactly one of those. In my view, this does not meet the expectations raised by the pictures on Booking.com. In addition, there were numerous deficiencies. The air conditioning could not be adjusted. On my arrival day, it was only 11 °C and raining, making the room uncomfortably cold. When I inquired, I was merely met with shrugged shoulders and told that the air conditioning was centrally controlled and set to cooling mode due to the warm temperatures of the previous week. A solution or even an attempt to find an alternative was completely absent. Unfortunately, that was not enough. The toilet had a strong smell of sewage, and the next morning there was no hot water until about 10:30 AM. This was particularly frustrating for me, as I had a business appointment at 10:30 AM and therefore could not take a shower. When I addressed the problem, I was only given the response that "there is hot water again now." However, I cannot understand that, as I had tested the water at 10:25 AM and it was still cold. This sum of problems was ultimately the reason why I ended my stay early. However, the handling of my complaint was particularly disappointing. On-site, I was referred to management and was promised a partial refund. In fact, I subsequently received an email confirmation that a portion of the overnight price would be refunded to me. However, after I submitted my account details, all communication ceased. To this day, I have neither received the promised refund nor any further feedback. A hotel can always have technical problems from time to time. However, what is crucial is how these issues are handled. In this case, there was a lack of both service willingness and reliability. Based on my experiences, I unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel.

A mixed bag here. The positives: the hotel restaurant is not bad. The wait staff is great. The food selection is good. It gets crowded too. I ate here twice and was satisfied. Front desk staff also very good and helpful. The so-so: Breakfast is OK. Not sure what the yellow substance that they call "eggs' is. Coffee machines - why can't I get a big mug of black coffee in Europe? :) The bad: the location. You can walk to a nice mall, Galeries Lafayette (?) with a big Carrefour and some restaurants. But you need a car, taxi or Uber to get into the center of Avignon

Quite satisfactory for a stage in Avignon. Room well equipped and clean. Good breakfast
