Moulin De Lourmarin

The Le Moulin is a beautifully designed boutique hotel in the heart of charming Lourmarin. We found it to be a perfect base for touring Provence, as there was ample parking and wonderful dining options in town. We had a lovely room with a small balcony and found the room to be tastefully decorated and clean on arrival. We are seasoned travelers who typically stay at very high end hotels (Four Seasons , Ritz Carltons, One and Only), so for the price point of Le Moulin, we were expecting a higher level of service. When we arrived, we went to the pool area only to find wet towels discarded on several of the lounge chairs, with more discarded towels piled in a bin, leaves and debris on the deck from the trees, and just an overall unkempt look. A server popped out from the adjacent restaurant, but never asked us it we wanted a beverage or snack (a missed opportunity to have guests enjoy their time at the pool). When we were having a drink at the outside cafe, there was a large oval serving tray piled with used glasses that should not have been in sight of guests. On our second day, we left a hang tag for our room to be serviced, and it never was. To us, it seemed like the staff was very young and inexperienced in prioritizing a high level of cleanliness and service. In all, it is a beautiful place that could be a next level experience with a little more attention to service and detail.

Amazing stay! Service was impeccable and the food was great. We wanted rest and relaxation…. and we got that.

Le moulin has always been one of my most favorite hotels - it’s beautiful and extremely well designed. It is - however - extremely rare to find such warmth and continuity in the service. To see the same team repeatedly is a genuine joy and makes it feel even more like coming home. Christina is the most wonderfully thoughtful and welcoming face you could ever wish to see when you check in and the one you are sad to say goodbye to when you go. The team at breakfast get your day off to an absolutely perfect start and Sebastian is our new favorite team member and we can’t wait to see everyone again next year.
