Roc Heights Lodge

This was my second trip to Gambia and I stayed in Roc Heights purely due to the fabulous staff, especially Omar who really went out of his way if I needed anything. All the staff are friendly, happy and ready to assist. The rooms are huge and clean. A few upgrades are needed as some fixtures have become worn and need changing. Breakfast is simple but Lamin makes excellent omelette. I prefer the location as it's away from main tourist hustle but only a 5 minute walk. The area is safe even for solo female travellers. The beach is just a few minutes walk and very clean. There are a few eateries and bars nearby, some serving traditional food. Benachin with fish is delicious. Do try the local dishes.

we wanted to stay the night we went to have a look at the hotel easily found Peter greeted us and we explained he said I will show you around room was amazing truly Gambia style very large clean and very welcoming and reasonably priced...we decided to go back to senagambia as wasn't sure it would be for us on an evening...but if we go back we will stay in this hotel so a huge thank you Peter for your kindness and professional manner..

Thank you again to Omar, Peter, Landing and all the helpful staff, for our happy stay for third year at the clean, comfortable Roc Heights - now with improved breakfast ! A real taste of a colonial property Gambia style, and always interesting other tyravellers and workers to meet.
