Hotel Markgrafler Hof

We ended up at this hotel by chance, because we were looking for dinner after a long mountain hike. So we didn't sleep there, but we were warmly welcomed into the good and clean -but almost empty- looking restaurant. The hotel has apparently lost its appeal once & just a few months ago has a new owner; who dares and tries with all his might to revive the hotel. As a result, it is not quite in order when it comes to technology and stock, but this new owner is committed 200%, and you will therefore want for nothing. The menu is not very spacious now (which is only wise if you are still starting and the run-up is not that big), but the food the owner made and served himself on site was really super good, neatly served, tasty and ample in portions. Really prepared with love, very tasty and professional looking. 2 of the diners in our party are teenagers, (17/19) and they too were full of praise for the served. What struck us most is the passion, humility and service orientation of the new owner, who needs a lucky break to ‘get back on the map’. In any case, we can report that this certainly has potential in terms of food and Service / restaurant. It is definitely on our list to definitely eat again, if we are looking for a base again on the way, or if we do not feel like cooking ourselves.

Hospitality was absolutely superb, thank you so much Katja & Francesco, we went home feeling very refreshed and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed an extra three nights because we enjoyed it so much, just had to change rooms, which were both very clean, comfortable, a good size and everything finished to a high standard. We ate here for seven nights out of nine only because the restaurant was closed Christmas eve & Christmas day every meal was delicious, thank you Francesco, with exceptional service. Katja you are an Angel, we thank you so much and miss you.

A very tasteful hotel with a spacious room, top bathroom and delicious breakfast with high-quality baked goods and very friendly staff! The price/performance ratio is just right here. We would come again! Absolutely recommended!
