Mercure Freiburg Am Munster

2. Visit. We were in Freiburg for a family visit with 2 children and a car. The hotel is super central, everything is close by. The parking garage is very convenient. We ate breakfast at the bakery outside.

We have been staying at the Mercure Freiburg for many years because the location is very central and everything was largely always in order. Unfortunately, we have noticed for some time that the condition of the hotel and the service are declining. It started with us being told upon our slightly earlier arrival that the room was available, but that we could only get in if we signed up for the bonus program. You can do that, but it does not leave a positive impression on the customer. Upon arriving in the room, we found torn towels, broken baseboards, and an air conditioning system that did not work. After our complaint, we were able to change rooms, but the air conditioning there only worked moderately well too. With current temperatures of over 30°C, the room simply would not cool down. We do not know if this is intentionally controlled by the hotel. The general condition of the rooms was very worn out: Dirty windows and carpets, dusty closets, broken towels and baseboards... at some point, a good location alone is no longer enough.

Very nice rooms. Good food. Very friendly service, especially Mr. Ferizi.
