Hotel Ochsenwirtshof

My husband and I are with our dog at least once a year in the Ochsenwirtshof. It is a small family-run hotel with very spacious rooms, great service (Mrs Armbruster also fulfills extra wishes of guests if possible), a first-class swimming pool and sauna and you can book massages, so a real wellness hotel with first-class food. Also the team at the hotel is super friendly. This year we were in the ox for our wedding day. We had booked an arrangement with a 4-course meal. On the wedding day in the morning we were already surprised with a beautifully decorated table, but the evening was the big hit. Mrs. Armbruster presented us with a special menu card (only for our day of honor). And Stephane, the chef, has outdone himself in preparing the food. It was just awesome. We thank you again for this. We will definitely come back and then enjoy our holiday time at the hotel over New Year's Eve. It is then very relaxed, as it is also a nice holiday for our dog lady, as no one burns off fireworks there.

Practical hotel, no great luxury. Minimum staffing, When serving is not taken into account when you enter. Dinner in terms of food ok, most days choice of 2 main courses. Breakfast ok even if the replenishment is not or not fast. Room was not done 1x. Pool very good as well as the sauna, the hours super from 7am to 10pm. Nice walks and towns in the area.

Country Mood, traditional and family in this small hotel-restaurant in the heart of the Black Forest. Satisfactory breakfasts and dinners (according to German standards), with professional Service. Rooms simply equipped but large and very clean. We would have really appreciated some basic but very useful improvements in terms of comfort (and some privacy in the bathroom / toilet). Indoor swimming pool and sauna very nice. Unfortunately lacks a pleasant exterior: the hotel is located between a road (noise, especially many motorcycles) and a steeply sloping terrain. Dogs welcome (please put a garbage can near the entrance). Attention: access to the rooms and restaurant is only via stairs, so not suitable for PMR. Charming but secluded area and all only attractive for hikers.
