Holiday Inn Express City Centre

The hotel is quite far from the old town but we enjoyed the walk in. Very convenient supermarket next door and some lovely cafes and bars very close. The air con in the room was not good and it was very hot at night. We could hear a lot of noise from the corridors and adjacent rooms. The room itself was comfortable not much room for three people but we managed. It would be fine for a one night stay. The check in staff were helpful and we were able to leave our luggage while we explored.

Excellent hotel for a short stay in Heidelberg. The check-in was fast and smooth, and the reception staff were friendly. The location is fantastic, with a parking garage directly across the street, making it very convenient to reach the old town on foot. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable for sleeping. Breakfast was good and sufficient for a stay of one or two nights. The only downsides were the paid parking and the limited free parking nearby. Also, if you’re looking for scenic views, this hotel may not be the best choice. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

We arrived 2 hours early to our hotel and were allowed to check in free of charge because a room was available. LOCATION: This location seemed far from the touristy sights. We did walk it but on hot days it is exhausting. We should have used public transport more often. We were able to take a train from across the road to the entrance of the funicular to the castle (exit Rathaus/Bergbahn) That’s even a great stop to just get out and then do the tourist spots even if not going to the castle. GROCERY: Next door there is a great grocery store, and it has a nice cafe inside to sit and eat breakfast/coffee. BAGGAGE HOLD: There was free baggage hold for the day for our luggage after we checked out. Just ask at the front desk. ROOM: The room was nice. It was hard to get the temperature in the room cool enough. RESTAURANT: There is a restaurant right beside the front desk. We did not eat there.
