Steigenberger Insel

The hotel has seen better days. The spa area is currently being renovated, and the rest could also use a refresh. We had a junior suite... strangely without a balcony. The hotel would also benefit from more staff... one had the feeling that there were too few staff members. In the private "beach" area, empty wine bottles and old towels were lying around... one day is okay... but if it is still lying around after 2 days, there are probably no planned rounds by the hotel staff to check if everything is nice. One can actually expect that at this price and with this name. A positive was that the bar is always open until at least 12:00 AM.

For the umpteenth time, we were at the Steigenberger Inselhotel for a few days at the same time. From check-in to check-out, we felt comfortable. Clean room and attentive service. The only thing to mention is the need for renovation on the balcony door, which is difficult to close. The owner of the building, the Rothaus Brewery, should be responsible for that, however. We will book this wonderfully located hotel again at the next opportunity.

We were very satisfied with the obligingly polite staff. However, there are a few things that could be improved. Why are the carpets in the stairwell so faded and rather gray? We also expect the rooms and their contents to be checked. Why are there at the edge of the carpet Two holes? We also complained at the reception that the water in the bathtub does not drain. No one declared themselves responsible during our stay. We booked the hotel specifically to be able to swim in the lake. The garden was very pleasant. Due to the low water level, it was very difficult to swim in the lake, as the weeds and water grass were very high. The access to the lake (old concrete) is also not very appealing. We really missed having a swimming pool.
