As others have said, clean. Quiet and room size acceptable. Small bathroom, but I have seen worse. They even give you a bottle of water and some jelly beans in the room. No shampoo or conditioner, but that is not unusual in this type of business hotel. Some reviewers have commented on the breakfast buffet; please note that it is not included in the daily rate, but is a reasonable 10E. For Basel, it is a two block walk across the border to pick up the tram to Messeplatz and downtown, around 30 minutes or so. My room was over the Chinese restaurant downstairs and right on the road, but I did not notice road sound nor smell anything from the restaurant.

Chose JFM as a base camp for the Europa League final in Basel. Very good value for money! Pros: Friendly staff with great English language skills. Free parking Free wifi Good location: trams to everywhere, pub serving food less than a minute walk away, bank, bookies next door, McDonald's (short drive). It also has a Chinese restaurant attached to it but didn't try that. Powerful shower Clean Hairdryer, TV & coffee facilities in room Cons: Decor a bit dated Pillows not the comfiest The light didn't come on in the hall at night so I had to shine my phone to find my room. The majority of hotels in the area were either charging absolutely ludicrous sums (£750+ per night) or were fully booked for the final but JFM stayed true to its routes; Fair accommodation at a fair price. I fully expected it to be like a scene from the movie 'Hostel' for what we paid but was pleasantly surprised and left having enjoyed my stay. As long as you don't go expecting any sort of luxury then you won't be disappointed. Would happily stay again.

Hotel was clean and quiet, decor was a bit dated but adequate for a base. Switzerland is just a 5min walk over the hill where a tram will take you into Basel. Plenty of public transport around. Check in was quick, no maps or anything given though, have to google everything. Wifi was free and fairly quick.
