Waldhotel am Notschreipass

A hotel that offers everything for both children and adults. We felt very comfortable, ate well, and relaxed well. The spa area is beautiful, the room was cozy and luxurious, and the staff is very friendly.

Summary: Great hotel with very friendly staff. The reception was very friendly and without exception all employees of the house always had a smile on their faces and were helpful. What we liked: you are assigned a table and you keep it during your stay. The hotel is very clean. We had a room in the new building. The food is good to very good, the staff takes requests into consideration and always does their best. This hotel is suitable for couples as well as families and people who like to take their dog on vacation. The hotel shines with great cleanliness. The wellness area: The wellness area is very nice, it is a bit annoying that you have to go to different floors, but this is simply due to the fact that the hotel has an old and a new area. A part of the spa area is reserved exclusively for adults; here you can have some peace and quiet. The sky pool is nice, though a bit chilly when it is cooler outside. There are quiet zones in huge numbers, all of which are very beautifully designed. Food: We had a three-quarter board, as there were only the options of breakfast or three-quarter board. - Breakfast: The breakfast is rich, although we would have wished for more bread from a real bakery. The bread at breakfast and dinner was mostly bake-off baguettes as well as bake-off pretzel rolls or puff pastry items. In addition, convenience donuts and other seemingly thawed coffee pastries were served. In this hotel category, it would be nice to source regional baked goods and, in particular, to offer a larger selection of classic breads instead of bake-off products. At breakfast, we found it a shame that jams were sometimes offered in small plastic portions, just like the cream cheese and chocolate spread. Such things are now available in dispensers, so that unnecessary single-use waste can be avoided. The pancakes also seemed to us to be a convenience product and were tough and tasteless. - Lunch snack: The small buffet at lunch is okay, but the salads are partly identical to those at dinner. It would be nice here if there were variations so that, with the exception of, for example, green salad, there are no duplications. - Dinner: The dinner is very delicious, although the soups from the buffet are a bit watery, but this is a matter of taste. The vegan soups are always very similar in taste, even if they change daily. It is a shame that you even have to pay dearly for water at dinner that comes from their own spring. I would find it fair here if one paid at least a lower price for this than €5.50 for 700 ml. The hotel is not strictly an adults-only hotel, but you do not need to worry about children screaming. The hotel manages a good balance between a family hotel and an adults' hotel. Families with children have a separate dining room, so that couples and those without children can dine in peace in another room. Wellness area: The wellness area in the new building section is really very nice and clean. It is somewhat annoying that, due to the construction of the old and new buildings, you sometimes have to change floors or walk through the hotel. Unfortunately, there are no proper infusions. You can still see that not everything is finished yet, especially in the wellness garden. Unfortunately, towels are only available in the wellness area at two times of the day; otherwise, you have to go to the reception. It would be nice if they were restocked regularly. There are a large number of quiet zones, and they are very nice. Fitness: The fitness room is really tiny. The dumbbells end at 9 kilos. It is a shame that the rowing machine located there is broken. This should either be repaired or at least removed so that there is at least some space available. If there are three to four people there, the room is already very crowded, making it uncomfortable. Furthermore, the hotel has a so-called gymnastics room; this is nice and bright, but also really only equipped for this purpose. Rooms: We had a suite. This was beautiful, very new, spacious, and next to a separate shower-toilet, a large bathtub as well as a very roomy shower. Furthermore, the room had an LED fireplace, which was very pretty, an infrared lounger, and a small couch as well as a balcony. The only drawback is the extremely firm and hard mattresses; you have to like that. Here, the hotel should consider whether they might offer soft mattress toppers for sensitive guests, as the nights can otherwise certainly become very short. Drawback: In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, there is a type of nightclub. It is unbearably loud there on Saturdays; despite closed windows, the bass booms into the rooms, at least if they are oriented toward this establishment. The noise lasted until 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. What we only found out on-site: the hotel belongs to an association of Christian-run hotels. We were already wondering why the place cards had religious references, and Christian information brochures were laid out everywhere in the relaxation rooms. Whether these are free churches or something similar, we cannot judge. However, these things are not intrusive, so it did not bother us. Conclusion: Thank you for the pleasant stay, we would love to come back!

It is a beautiful hotel, very clean, friendly staff, the half-board breakfast and dinner were brilliant (breakfast buffet, in the evening you can choose from various appetizers, main courses, and desserts plus salad buffet and soup). My sister and I feel very comfortable in this hotel and we spend a weekend there once a year because we like it so much. It has a sky pool, an indoor pool, and a swimming pond and plenty of space for relaxation.
