Hotel Stadt Gernsbach

The site says: low prices and breakfast included!!! Suitable for cyclists who want to see the surrounding areas, the garage for bicycles is free, closed twice for added security and charging for electric bikes is also included... They seem to be begging you to book because the hotel is so and with all this convenience you will turn a blind eye.... Never impression was more wrong because the hotel has features of excellence that other hotels do not have!!! First of all you can easily come from at least three different routes. It is located in the middle of three four beautiful villages to visit in all seasons and especially the Black Forest which despite the name that evokes evil creatures is one of the most beautiful and suggestive natural places in Germany. Huge and spotless parking, from the room you can see your car directly. Nice and friendly facade. Reception strangely on the fourth floor but there is a huge lift for all the suitcases you want. On the same floor they serve breakfast on a beautiful view of the town. We arrive in the room on the third floor, another surprise: new room, large clean airy bright warm that always overlooks the town of Gernsbach. The roofs with the smoking chimneys are the right setting for a beautiful day that is coming to an end. Warm and comfortable bed, abundant and varied breakfast. What more do you want from life? That the receptionist, nice and kind, spoke a little better English....!

On new year's eve my friend and I wanted to take the last S-bahn train home after celebrating the new year in Gernbach Altstadt. Unfortunately some strange men started following and harassing us and we ended up missing the last train. We weren't the only ones that missed the train and together as a group of 4 women we tried to shake these men off. Because we were afraid and especially with groups of young men here and there still lighting off fireworks, we ended up ringing the Stadt Gernbach Hotel's doorbell for safety. The lady of the night staff really saved us and took us in. She tried to call a taxi for us, but every one of them was booked throughout the night. We were offered to stay the night free of charge considering the situation. And I can't express how grateful we are for this. Without the staff of the Stadt Gernbach Hotel we could have been robbed, assaulted or worse. So if you're considering staying at this hotel: be assured, the people working there are good people and go above and beyond to assure your safety.

Was on business for 3 days in the Gernsbach area and attached another day of vacation. The location of the hotel was great, the breakfast buffet was very rich and provided a good start to the day. The ladies at reception and breakfast were very friendly, accommodating and helpful with any questions. Can well imagine having the starting point for a Black Forest holiday here. Will definitely come back!!
