Mercure Fontana

The Pullman's advertising does not match the actual quality and service that this hotel provides. During the hottest week in June, the air conditioning in the entire building stopped working. My 11th floor room reached over 100 degrees and there was no urgency or willingness to fix the air conditioning. I suffered for three days. The system was probably overloaded because of the extreme heat temperatures and demand from everyone maxing out their air conditioning. However, where is the planning or anticipation for unusual weather events? Where are the emergency repair services? Thank GOD, no one had a medical emergency due to the extreme heat in the building. The elevators break down often and the parking garage kiosks are often inoperable. When you talk to management about the issues, they either tell you someone was called to fix it or they tell you the problem doesn't exist. A manager told me that I was not using the parking garage correctly while the kiosks were inoperable. Some of the cleaning staff members are extremely lazy and do not thoroughly clean rooms properly. They leave surfaces dirty, bring you one towel, leave eaten food sitting out because they are instructed not to throw it away, forget to take trash out, forget to leave you water, forget to replenish the facial tissue, spill your personal products, and they half-way clean the shower, and sinks. This hotel is expensive and you do not get the value.

Good hotel with excellent transport connections, across from a great park and a path into the city of Vaihingen. Breakfast price too high, uncomfortable due to constant clearing away, they did not wait for the end of breakfast time. The great winter garden was closed - without explanation. The swimming area is unbeatable beautiful and very well furnished; relaxing in the garden is also great and peaceful.

The fontana has been refurbished, but the new furniture looks already worn out. In my room there were stains on all the chairs. Windows are also not sound proved and even on the 9th floor you can hear the traffic of the tram and the trains. The only positive are the great rainshowers in the bath room that is how a rain shower should be. I stayed in between the years, because I got a cheap offer. The hotel was full, but understaffed, there were not refills in the rooms of coffee or toiletries. To the management, don't out offers out there, if you have not enough people to service guests. I have stayed a few times at the fontana before, but it was never that bad, the pool was ice cold, management seems to have been thinking, how can I avoid that the pool area gets overcrowded, well I don't heat the pool. I got a severe cold from using the pool. Don't book breakfast at the hotel, while the food is very good and there is a great range which changing frequently, there is not enough space in this area of the hotel. If you want to experience first hand a brutal battle at the buffet go there. I don't think, I will return
