I stayed with my three children (including two toddlers) at this hotel as we had appointments at the pediatric clinic in Heidelberg. I wanted to make the stay pleasant for my children despite the doctor's appointments, as I am a single parent and rarely have the opportunity to go on holiday. Unfortunately, this plan was completely destroyed by the behavior of the hotel owner – my children did not have fond memories, but were traumatized by his behavior. Already on arrival there were problems: Another hotel guest who had booked and paid for a room had to sleep in the intermediate corridor between the entrance and the elevator, as the hotel staff did not offer a solution. Only after I tried to help the guest was he placed in the conservatory. Located in the train station district, drug deals take place right outside the door, there are alcoholic people walking around, the front door is permanently open, the mezzanine door closes slowly, and someone could also ride unnoticed in the elevator. Especially in the evening I felt insecure with my young children. During our stay there was an extremely traumatizing incident with the hotel owner: My five-year-old daughter had wet the bed – a perfectly normal incident for which the hotel should be prepared. The staff member changed the sheets under eye rolls and then asked me to pay the entire hotel bill immediately, even though I had booked payment on departure. I declined and went to the room with my children. Later, when I wanted to smoke a cigarette with my daughter outside, the hotel owner aggressively stood in my way and demanded immediate payment. I pointed out to him that payment will be made on departure and showed him the booking on the app. It was only after I pointed out to him that it was a deprivation of liberty that he let me go. Meanwhile, my daughter was extremely frightened, cried, screamed and vomited several times – she was really traumatized. The owner escalated further: He tried to lock my room card, activate a new card and force his way into the room while my children were there. I had to push him away to protect my children. Thanks to my physical strength (strength sports) I was able to prevent this. The police were finally called in after we both reported the situation. She made it clear to the owner that his behavior is totally unacceptable and that in the future, it would be better to communicate with each other rather than talk past each other. Only then did he reactivate my card. After this incident, I tried to create some distractions with my children, for example by taking a walk in the Botanic Garden. I immediately reported the incident to Booking.com. For security reasons, Booking cancelled the hotel and made it clear that the costs of the hotel owners must be borne. Unfortunately, I had to spend the last night at the hotel as no other hotel was available at short notice. I was extremely scared because the owner was alcoholic and aggressive. I took security measures, such as towels and a chair out front, as I feared he might try to get into the room again. On departure, there was again theater and a police intervention as the hotel owner charged my credit card without my authorization, although Booking had clarified the cancellation and responsibility. The cleanliness of the rooms was insufficient: Stains on mattresses and bed linen, shower rug was not changed, toilets not cleaned. Overall, the owner's treatment of guests was disrespectful, aggressive, profit-oriented and absolutely unprofessional. My children and I felt threatened and traumatized. The stay was supposed to offer the children something beautiful despite doctor's appointments – the owner's behaviour made it a traumatic experience. Location of the hotel: no quiet area, drugs, alcohol, unsafe roads. Safety for children and adults is not guaranteed. Conclusion: This hotel cannot be recommended in principle. The owner is all about profit. Guests are not professionally looked after after after arrival, the well-being of the guests and especially the safety of children is completely irrelevant. I strongly advise against visiting this hotel.

Everything was very good! The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean. The breakfast was fresh and there was enough to chose from (fresh buns, eggs, cheese and meat, jam, yoghurt, fresh fruit and vegetables... as much fresh coffee as we wanted:-) The location was perfect for us: Close to the main station, so we could rest after the long train ride. Fifteen minutes walk into the old center (5 mins by tram). We would certainly book here again and recommend it to others.

Wifi VERY WEAK - had to go downstairs and sit on stairs to get it to work. There's nowhere else to sit. Walking distance from Train Station and was pretty clean - those are the positives. The bed was comfortable but only one pillow per person and it's very flat. It's a budget hotel but overpriced even for that. There's no mini-bar - it's a small basket with snacks. No AC - tried sleeping with windows open but was too noisy. Closed windows got very hot. No fan. No common areas so you can sit on your bed or leave the property. They gave us a code to get a key out of a box outside the property - it didn't work. We had to activate an international plan on our phone so we could call someone and get in our room (at 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon). We had to check out early on Monday because "it's a holiday" and they were closing the front desk early. You have to take an Uber or other transportation to any sites - only convenient to train station and other hotels.
