Too bad that the overall very positive impression, friendliness at the reception, the room service staff, cleanliness in all areas was clouded by the partly more like unfriendly atmosphere at breakfast! The coffee milk at the table was sour on the first day, but even on the other days the coffee was inedible despite fresh milk! The master of the breakfast staff with his FFP 2 mask, in May 2025, behind which he hid to say yes not good morning! On all 3 days mostly empty "sausage-cheese platters" canned fruit salad, extended with pears, apple and grapes... only after please to fill up again, so it just goes on! The only thing that was really good was the scrambled eggs!

We booked this 4* hotel direct through hotel. It is a small hotel with small bedroom. We did have a balcony which was nice. However the bar was closed, there was only evening meal available on one of our nights, we were unaware of the fitness/gym. Very few people spoke English which made it difficult to find out what there was. The orange juice ran out at breakfast and another resident asked the waiter to fill it up for me. He clearly wasn’t happy and banged the lid down and shook his head at me. I’m not sure how this hotel is rated 4*. There’s about 5 parking places outside the hotel otherwise there’s a garage but it’s €14 a day. Even the reception desk was only staffed part time.

I loved the town and the hotel. Relatives lived right across the town square so very convenient. Staff was very accomodating! Room was perfect and was the cleanest hotel I have ever been in! Breakfast was wonderful and we had dinner one evening at the restaurant Alte Schule on site. Food was excellent felt like I was in a private dining room. I highly recommend the hotel and food service. Room attendant took extra care when room was serviced. We left her a very nice tip. The town Bad Windshiem is just like I imagined a Bavarian town would look like!
