Hotel garni Simon

Excellent place to stay for the Oktoberfest, visits to Starnberg and lake, and Kloster Andechs, and of course the wonderful city of Munich ! With the S-Bahn right across the road; a more convenient place you could not wish for. Although I've read all of the previous reviews, I believe that they must have been based upon the hotel before it had any refurbishments many years ago. The hotel was very comfortable, the (inclusive) breakfast was more than plentiful. The staff could not have ben more friendly and helpful; and finally a 'no fuss' car park! Also what was especially interesting and shows taste in the broader sence of the word, are the original press cuttings reflecting different events in German 20th century history. Being a very keen follower of German history, these are quite fascinating. The owner has also put on display his awards in shooting. I would not hesitate to choose this hotel again. Some of the respondents mentioned that hotel is expensive. Personally I did not find this the case. Although my colleague and I had 2 double rooms, sharing a room makes it much less expensive. I would not hesitate to choose this hotel again, in fact when I know my plans I shall be booking again for next year.

Stayed two nights here. Conveniently situated next to train station so access to Oct Fest easy. Slightly dated but everything worked and staff were pleasant and helpful. Basic breakfast was available and great Bavarian bar/restaurant situated about 10 min walk down the road.

Whst an outdated hotel! Only plus is the free wifi. The rest is just old and needs an update! Bathroom old fashion and you can only take a shower with one hand while you keep the shower head in the other hand. This hotel reminds me of going to an old East Germany hotel. 75 euro is way too much for this hotel. Very noisy too.
