Value for money is not right
Our conclusion:
The hotel cannot compete with other family hotels in this price range. A lot of things started well once, but just didn’t finish. Our room cost 660€ per night. That's totally inappropriate.
The website promises a lot and thinks little of it.
The food is more than expandable. And criticism is circumvented
Our arrival on day 1 was unfortunately delayed by traffic jams. I reported this by phone and was told that in order to eat hot we had to be on site by 20.00. However, the documents here mention 20.30. We finally managed to do that and, in response to our complaint, we were necessarily served something else. The grill plate contained completely dry grilled food. The salmon was so dry that the edges had already rolled. The staff also wanted to clear us quickly, which was clearly noticeable.
On the hotel website it says: most days a 5-course menu is served which can be enjoyed with all your senses. No day was that the case.
After booking it is on the confirmation it is served every Saturday a Bavarian buffet (in summer additionally barbecue buffet).
At 3 nights we got 2x buffet. We didn't book it that way. I was told on the phone that you must like this. No, we booked especially for a fantastic five-course meal. We want to be served at the table and not eat food from heat containers.
On day two a 4-course meal was on the menu. The salad buffet was probably the first course here. Advertising on the website is simply misleading.
On the way to the table, with salad in hand, we were asked by the staff if the next course could be served. We just felt like we were done.
The food was not restaurant quality overall. Most before completely overcooked and just dry. A duck breast with basmati rice is touted as imaginative, creative and the salmon would be fantastic regional??? On day three the Bavarian buffet was on the agenda. A roast crust or duck should be served as a buffet? After the previous two days, we gave up this experience.
Breakfast was manageable but everything was available and of good quality.
A table change in the outdoor area we had to make ourselves while the staff stood on the terrace. What is the service idea here? The table arrangement itself was functional rather than beautiful. Each had a chunky stand that included a lot: Cutlery, napkins, drinks menu, ballpoint pens and daily mail (which was bursting with spelling mistakes).
The hallways of the hotel radiated the charm of a youth hostel.
Our room was a 2 bedroom apartment. The rooms were large and spacious, but the space was not used. It gave the impression that everything was set up low budget. In the master bedroom there was neither a wardrobe nor other storage facilities. Not even a luggage rack was thought of.
A high board in the room is clearly too little. In addition, a safe and a refrigerator were missing.
Outside there were 8 sunbeds for 34 families. That, too, is far too little.
There is no accessibility in the outdoor area. With a sleeping child in the car, that's extremely unfavourable.
The website advertises that the hotel is also designed for older children (kids and teens from 11 years). Unfortunately, none of that was visible. Our 2 big boys (8 and 10 years) got bored. The care is also clearly oriented towards young children. There are a lot of family times here. This is simply not appropriate for older children.
The swimming pool was very small but modern and attractively equipped.
Overall, it was very clean throughout the hotel. Only the room service was more convenient. It doesn't make a good impression if the bed linen isn't painted at least once.
On day two the bathroom was completely flooded after showering. Fortunately, the staff were still there and we were confirmed that the defective shower tray would be repaired the next day. We cannot assess whether this happened, because no one approached us anymore and we left early the following day.
We had another conversation with Silvia from reception in the evening. She listened to everything and referred us to the senior manager. She would be at the reception the following day from 8.00, but she could not be found there.
We never noticed any of the bosses at this family-run hotel. Even after the second complaint, neither approached us to clarify the situation. It seems like you want to avoid criticism.
Silvia also told of a review sheet that would be extremely important and taken seriously. We've never seen that bow.
On day 2 I turned to one of the ladies at the reception. I got a snippy answer. The behavior of the staff was almost exclusively not friendly. On the contrary, it often seemed set up. For me, feeling good was not possible.
