Riessersee Hotel Resort

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Bavarian Alps. A peaceful lake sits directly behind the hotel, and the property also offers a lovely pool, excellent spa services, relaxing saunas, beautiful rooms, and wonderful hospitality. The breakfasts were delicious, and we also thoroughly enjoyed the half-board dinners. The food, service, and attention we received throughout our stay were excellent. We felt very well cared for from the moment we arrived. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to escape from the busyness of everyday life while still being in a wonderful location for hiking, mountain excursions, and visiting the nearby cable cars. The scenery is spectacular, and the peaceful surroundings make it easy to relax and recharge. The hotel is approximately a 45-minute walk from town, although the taxi ride is only about eight minutes. It is helpful to bring some cash and pick up anything you may need before arriving, particularly if you plan to spend most of your time relaxing at the hotel. You can also walk, rent bicycles, or take a taxi into town. This hotel is completely worth the stay. It is a beautiful place to escape the world for a while, with great food, exceptional service, wonderful rooms, and unforgettable Alpine views.

I have now been to the Hotel Riessersee seven times and am thrilled anew every time. For me, it is one of the best hotels in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen region. The service is consistently friendly, attentive, and professional. You feel welcome from the very first moment. The food is also excellent – both in the hotel's main restaurant and in the Seehaus. I have always enjoyed dinner in the main restaurant as a buffet so far and was convinced by the large selection and the quality of the food every time. We have also been to the Seehaus for lunch several times. The food there also tastes excellent, and the relaxed atmosphere invites you to linger. You never have the feeling that you have to make room as quickly as possible after eating – instead, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the view of the Riessersee in complete peace. I would particularly like to highlight the cleanliness throughout the hotel. Both the rooms and all public areas are always well-maintained and spotless. An absolute highlight is the dreamlike location directly on the Riessersee. The quiet surroundings invite you to go for walks and relax. Particularly impressive is the nature cinema with its beautiful view over Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the surrounding mountains – a place where you simply want to linger and enjoy the view. The spacious spa area is also impressive across the board. The pool, the whirlpool, and the various saunas offer a large selection and invite you to relax after an active day. We have now stayed at the hotel twice with our dog and were thrilled by how dog-friendly everything is designed here. A dog bowl and a dog blanket were already waiting in the room – a very nice touch. In addition, there is a separate area in the restaurant where guests with a dog can eat in a very relaxed manner. This shows that four-legged friends are truly welcome here. I can recommend the Hotel Riessersee without reservation and will gladly stay there again in the future. For everyone looking for relaxation, outstanding service, excellent food, and a unique location, this hotel is a clear recommendation.

We have come to the hotel for the past 2 years and plan to come again next year. We had the Seehaus with the lake view and it was spectacular. The staff are always friendly and accommodating towards us as guests. The breakfasts are fantastic. The restaurant at the Seehaus is also really lovely.
