Hotel Hauser

Not the fanciest hotel, but clean and quiet rooms, breakfast included with room rate, and in a terrific location in the university area near the English Garden and walkable to several major museums and old town. Neighborhood had TONS of restaurants/shops/cafes - I'd never been to Munich before and debated which neighborhood to stay in, and after spending a few days here, was glad I chose this area (it's much, much nicer than area near central train station, where there are lots of hotels but would NOT recommend staying in that area). Coming from or to the airport or central train station, to get to the hotel, you can either walk to a very close subway stop and then transfer on subway to train, or you can walk to closest train stop (15 minute walk) or walk to central train station (35 minute walk). Also, even though the hotel is located on a lively street with a lot of shops/restaurants/university students noise outside, it is incredibly quiet inside - the windows/ventilation at this hotel are a feat of engineering, somehow you can actually get fresh air without noise. (There also looked to be individual room A/C units, but it was not hot when I was there, so cannot confirm A/C).

I stayed here for four days whilst attending the Oktoberfest. The location is great, about 20 minutes in a taxi to the venue. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, so very convenient. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were small, a single bed and toilet/shower, however, had everything you needed. The rooms were immaculate and bedding changed every day. The shower was lovely and easy to control, not always the case. I would definitely recommend and if in Munich stay again. Thank you for a great stay.

A cozy hotel in the Maxvorstadt area near the University. Only a couple of blocks from Metro, the Alte Pinkothek, & Englisher Garten. Clean & quiet rooms, comfy beds & a delicious breakfast. With a daypass, we easily traveled to the Marienplatz. Lots of restaurants nearby (more than Bavarian) & a younger vibe. Super helpful & friendly staff.
